Tickets : OGC Nice - FC Sheriff Tirapsol

Founded in 1997, FC Sheriff Tiraspol have dominated the Moldovan league since 2001, winning the national title 19 times in the last 22 seasons, as well as 11 Moldovan Cups between 1999 and 2022. They are a regular in the European qualifying rounds, but have only qualified for four editions of the UEFA Europa League via the play-offs.

Football fans will remember their first qualification for the UEFA Champions League in the last season 2021/2022. FC Sheriff Tiraspol made a name for themselves by finishing third in a group of death that included Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan and future winners Real Madrid, whom they beat 1-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Following these results, the Moldovans were relegated to the UEFA Europa League, where they were eliminated in the play-offs (formerly known as the round of 16) on penalties against SC Braga (2-2 on aggregate, 3-2 on penalties).
