Previously known as Association Sportive Troyes Sainte-Savine, ESTAC (Espérance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne) was founded in 1986.
Driven and developed by Alain Perrin, the tactical approach based on the passing game combined with the talent of its young players such as Jérôme Rothen or Mamadou Niang will allow the Aube team to reach the 7th place of the championship during the 2000-01 Ligue 1 Uber Eats season, synonymous with qualification for the Intertoto Cup. By beating English side Newcastle, they obtained their ticket for the UEFA Cup the same year.
The following seasons were less successful, with ESTAC alternating between the first and second divisions. In 2009-10, they even found themselves in the National. They won the Ligue 2 BKT in 2014-2015 and in 2020-2021.

A World Cup winner in 2018, the number 23 is trying to bring all his experience to bear to help the club achieve its goals this season. Over the course of his career, the Bastia native, who began in Fréjus, has played in five different countries and for ten teams. In 2011, he won the French Cup and Ligue 1 double with LOSC.
In 2016 he won the Europa League with Sevilla FC, but failed to win the Copa del Rey (0-2 in the final against Barcelona) and the Euro with France (0-1 in the final against Portugal).
