Tickets : OGC Nice - Lorient

Founded in 1926, Football Club of Lorient has long pursued its quest for professionalism and obtained its first ticket to the elite of French football in 1998 by finishing second in a Ligue 2 BKT championship won by AS Nancy Lorraine.

The club's first-team coach was Christian Gourcuff, who helped the Lorient-based club stabilise at the professional level and achieve several seasons in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. In 2014, after more than 10 years at the club, Christian Gourcuff left the club for a new challenge and remains an emblematic figure of the Merlus.

FC Lorient has a Ligue 2 BKT title in 2020 and a French Cup in its trophy cabinet.

Key player

Alexis Claude-Maurice discovered football in Torcy in Seine-et-Marne, then joined FC Lorient at the age of 16 where he trained until he discovered the Ligue 2 BKT. He played his first professional match on 4 August 2017 against GFC Ajaccio at the age of 19.

Two years later, on 19 August 2019, he signed his contract and joined OGC Nice where he discovered the Ligue 1 Uber Eats but also European competitions with the Gym's Europa League campaign in the 2020-2021 season.
