Tickets OGC Nice - Lyon

Founded in 1950, Olympique Lyonnais changed dimension under the presidency of Jean-Michel Aulas between 1987 and 2023. Today, the "Gones" have a significant record with 5 French Cups, 1 League Cup, 7 Champions Trophies, and most notably, 7 consecutive French League titles between 2002 and 2008 where the club reached its peak.

For over a decade, OL has had a highly regarded youth academy, among the best in Europe. Players like Karim Benzema, Alexandre Lacazette, Corentin Tolisso, Alassane Plea (former Nice player), and more recently Amine Gouiri, were all developed in the capital of Gaul.

Olympique Lyonnais is also a prominent advocate and representative of the growth of women's football in France and Europe.

Head to head

Over the last 10 meetings in official competition with Olympique Lyonnais, the record is as follows: 4 wins for Nice, 4 wins for Lyon, 2 draws.

The latest meeting between the two teams took place in Lyon, on the 22nd day of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats 2023-2024. Despite numerous attempts, the Aiglons lost 1-0 to the Lyonnais.

Notable player

Amine Gouiri, a Gym recruit in the summer of 2020, grew up at Olympique Lyonnais from the age of 13 to 20. Having gone through all of OL's youth teams, Amine, then aged 16, joined the Rhone club's reserve team during the 2016-2017 season, while being given an opportunity to play in Youth League matches with the Under-19s. Amine Gouiri will make his first steps in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and consequently in professional football, against Montpellier during the 2017-2018 season.

On 27 November 2019, Amine will not go unnoticed as he will take part in two UEFA matches on the same day: in the Youth League against Zenit St Petersburg U19s in the early afternoon (45 minutes of play), and then the same evening against the first team of the same Zenit (about 10 minutes of play).
